Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is probably one the easiest and most lucrative to get started in. With this method it can be done without a paid website but you need a middle man to be the most effective and the potential to build a long term business.

What do I mean by a middle man ? You need some source in the middle that acts as a bridge to get your visitors to opt in to an email subscription where you giveaway a free report, eBook or free training and your affiliate offer.

Affiliate Marketing Sales Funnel
Conversion Funnel – Author: Seobility – License: CC BY-SA 4.0

This is how all successful affiliate marketers funnel their audience to their offers and the reason is two fold, firstly you have a subscriber that you can continue to build a relationship and potentially be a long term paying customer and the second reason is because it is the most effective ROI (Return On Investment) for your marketing campaigns.

Simply put, you pay for that customer only once to get them to be a part of your email list and then potentially becoming a long term customer. If you look at Amazon’s affiliate model because they are such a large affiliate people trust them to give their emails in the checkout process. If you’ve ever purchased anything on Amazon pay attention to the funnel process they use to transition you with ease through the sales process and then before final checkout they suggest some more related products on an up-sell to get you to buy more stuff. Their website is the bridge between you and the product.

If you do not use this method the chances of you having any kind of success with affiliate marketing is slim to none. When I first got started doing affiliate marketing it is exactly what I did and wondered why I was not achieving any kind of success.

Now, saying all this you need a bridge to funnel your potential affiliate product buyers and I want to share two options you could use to do this:

  1. Use a Landing Page to get visitors to subscribe and redirect them to your affiliate offer. A Landing Page can be created with free email marketing software’s like Aweber. Aweber offers a Free email autoresponder service plus landing pages you can create to funnel and get your subscribers email all-in-one. It’s an awesome tool and I’ve personally used it for over 11 years.
  2. For a website you can use a well reputable service like WordPress services hundreds of thousands of website users and it is a simple and easy to use platform. Using WordPress you would build a page to act as a Landing Page to capture visitors emails and then send them to your affiliate product.

Print On Demand

Print on demand requires little to no upfront investment to getting started. Here are three services you could sign up for free and started selling your designs.

  • – Teespring is free to sign up and uploading your designs. Just like all Print On Demand services each have their own criteria of Design dimensions for different products ie. TeeShirts, Leggings, Phone Skins and other merchandise offered. So it is important that you read the requirements before getting started so you don’t waste your valuable time.
  • – Redbubble like Teespring has its own requirements for dimensions of designs for specific merchandise. It is a great place for hosting your artwork and designs on merchandise.
  • Merch by AmazonHow does it work? Simply upload your artwork, choose a product type and color, and add a product description. We’ll create a product page on Amazon and when customers buy your product, we’ll handle production, shipping, and customer service — all with no upfront costs.

Very Important: One area I highly recommend you are cautious about is Trademark. If you are using text on your graphics, images or just plain text it is wise for you to do a Trademark Search before you proceed with your design. Go to and to do a Basic Search.

First go to the top of the page and under Trademarks you’ll have a dropdown menu select Searching Trademarks. On the next page under the first paragraph Search Trademark Database click on Search our trademark database (TESS). On the next page under Select A Search Option click on Basic Word Mark Search (New User). On the following page enter the Search Term and click Submit Query.

This will give you a list of Trademarks for that Search Term whether Alive or Dead. If Alive you want to click on the right hand column to view the Trademark and what they are using for under Goods and Services. This will let you know if you can use for what you plan to use the Search Term for in your design.

If it comes up with no listing under Trademarks you are free to use anyhow you wish. If you want to learn more about Print On Demand I wrote another great article covering, How to make money with Print On Demand.

Whats Passive Income ?

A passive income is something you do most of your work at the start and then continue to make a passive income from your efforts. For example, a membership website where you’ve created the content of the site and you continue to get recurring income from members of your course or coaching etc…

Merch by Amazon, and Red Bubble are Print On Demand services you can join to get started.
  2. Dropshipping Store – This is where you find vendors or manufacturers who make the product and ship it to the customer for you and after all the expenses are paid you get the profits. This method requires some upfront capital but you can start off small and grow your way into a nice passive income. You can use services like Orbelo which specialize in dropshipping and can seamlessly help you find great products to sell. Shopify is one of the most popular platforms to use as your store front to sell your products and create a great passive income in 2020. If you would like to learn how to do dropshipping and get access to a list of over 8,000 reputable wholesalers then SalesHoo is a great course to join.

Sites like 500px, ShutterStock, Adobe Stock and iStock are great places to getting started selling your photos. Your income will depend on how big your portfolio, your experience and quality of photos.
  6. Love creating music or sound tracks ? – You could profit from this as well by using sites like Epidemic Sound works with artists to distribute your music across many platforms. They will pay you an upfront rate and then they split all streaming revenue 50/50 with you. Another place you can sell your tracks to is Sound Cloud. They let you generate a passive income from your uploads and pay you directly every month. When you upload your tracks they are readily available for visitors to purchase.

Selling physical products can be done through ShareASale, Commision Junction and Amazon Associates Program, for example with Amazon you can earn from 4 to 10% of the purchase price. You also have a choice of other networks like WarriorPlus, JVZoo, Commission Junction, ShareASale, and LinkShare – Rakuten Advertising Publisher Partners ( All are Free to Join ). The best and highly recommended way of doing affiliate marketing is either by using your website or blog to do product reviews and recommendations or use a landing page giving something of value for exchange for their email then directing them to your offer. With Youtube you can earn a passive income two different ways, you can make videos on product reviews as we discussed earlier also placing your affiliate links in the description of the video. The other way is with Youtube Partner Program which you can join when building your channel. In order to make money from Youtube ads on your videos you need to have 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of watch time. If you create great value and content people are looking for you can easily reach those targets.
